Print In The Age Of Corona

As the news of this pandemic gets worse and worse, I find myself turning more and more to purchasing online.

I am sure you have heard about all of the runs (pardon the pun) on toilet paper. Toilet paper? I’m still trying to figure out why the stores are selling out of that first. I think it’s probably a good time to buy a bidet! Let’s see if those get sold out as quickly!

We are only a few days into this global pandemic here in the states, but we need to look at how companies can maintain their business. Restaurants are being told to only serve customers by either pick up or delivery – no one should be going out to eat. We are told to “social distance”, keep a distance of 3 to 6 feet between you and the next person.

Where does everyone go to shop then, if they have to keep their distance? Why, online of course! It’s causing all sorts of delivery backups with companies such as Amazon or Chewy (let’s not forget that our pets have to eat, too!).

So how do the folks in the print industry handle this situation? Many have told me that print is all about relationships. But Print in the age of Corona human contact must be limited. They must find a way to maintain their relationships with their customers.

And that’s exactly where web to print comes in!

I know that there is a learning curve. There is with everything! But we at RedTie are here to help you get up and running. Our managed services group can create the web storefronts and create the products for you.

We also offer the ability to have a Pay As You Go storefront*, where you only pay for what is downloaded. No upfront fees and no monthly costs.

Thus, you can get up and running quite quickly, maintaining the relationships already in existence and creating new ones. And, you can also automate receiving the print ready PDF’s! If some of your staff needs to spend time at home, and you are short employees, use web to print to send the files to a hot folder, and then if your customer service rep is working from home they can get a quick look before sending it on to the press. And, if you have an HP Indigo on premises, you can even automate to go straight to the press! No human intervention needed!

This is the new normal. We all need to adapt, and I can’t think of a better way to keep and grow your business during this age of Corona.
